A Happy Holiday…
Written @ 12:21 a.m. on 2004-01-07

So it’s been a while since I’ve written here in my journal. I’ve tried to start back a few times but things haven’t really come out right so I’m just going to start and see what happens.

I had a great holiday. Foreman came home on December 19th and I think I saw him every day he was here (which was wonderful!!!!!!!). I have missed him so much and can’t wait until 176 days from now where I get to be with him permanently and we’ll never be apart like this again (not that I’m counting down the days or anything…).

Anyway, it was a different kind of Christmas for the two of us because now we’re starting to sew our lives together so figuring out what to do when and with who is becoming a bigger part of our relationship. It went really well though and over the two weeks we spent time with my family and the Morris’ (they are so fun !). Well here are some of the highlights of the Christmas season:

PseudoChristmas – It was so good to see MD after such a long time. It was also great to have the 35 of us sit down to dinner together. It was a beautiful evening.

Stocking Exchange – I was really happy with what we got Piegirl. We also got a great gift from Hope. It was a nice night as well.

A Christmas Carol – We went for dinner at Bistro Praha and then had first row seats at the Citadel. It was AMAZING!

Christmas Eve – Canoegirl, Foreman and I went to sing at a nursing home that afternoon and Foreman was told by a resident that she “wanted to go with the handsome, young man” – who knew I was dating one of those? We went to the Christmas Eve service and then had a nice evening with the Fuhr’s and Foreman and did all of our Christmas rituals including watching A Muppet’s Christmas Carol.

Christmas – Nice. Got some good stuff. Keith loved the Civilization Board Game (and Mark did too!). I got some great stuff and the whole day was very relaxing.

Holiday Date – Foreman and I didn’t have enough time to go away for a vacation so we stayed in and went to The Creperie and had an incredible night together (“Chillin’ at the Holiday Inn”) and then in the morning we went skating at Hawrelak park.

New Year’s Eve – Spent some time at the Party House (good and mellow time) and went to Donald’s where I got drunk in about 3.5 seconds, showed my Africa Powerpoint again and we all stayed up til 4:45am – CRAZY – I’m not 18 anymore!

New Year’s Day – Afternoon with my folks and dinner with Foreman’s parents. It was really nice and I am much more comfortable when I’m with them. They like me – I just worry when I don’t have constant validation and the Irish are not a constant validation people.

Chocolate Date with the Angels and Piegirl – Super fun! So glad that I went but REALLY have to learn to keep my mouth shut. At least I’m not an instigator… (just the nasty one…)

Party at the Smith’s – SO FUN! A bunch of crazy Irish drunks and normally when you’re sober drunks aren’t very fun but they are completely AWESOME. Foreman’s cousin basically told his mother that I’m a Morris and that I’m “good Irish shit” and that she loves me and on and on. She was hysterical. We also had a dance party in the computer room with the music thumping, the drinks flowing and Jeff on the lightswitch. Chara lent me a shirt with “Great tits” written on it (It’s a bird? Did you know that?) and discussing math and playing Go and Chess. And they all want to come canoeing. They are awesome and have almost all told me know that they think Keith and I should get married (so that’s supportive).

So those are the main events in my Christmas holidays. Had a great time and now I’m back at work and school and that seems to be going ok. I need to go to bed but I promise to write again before another 20 days pass.
